Proverbs 30:5
"Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
Proverbs 30 is a chapter in the book of Proverbs that contains the wisdom of Agur. Agur starts by acknowledging his lack of understanding and wisdom, humbly admitting that he is not as wise as others. He then asks God to keep falsehood and lies far from him, and to give him neither poverty nor riches, but only his daily bread. Agur recognizes that having too much wealth may cause him to deny God, and having too little may lead him to steal and dishonor God's name. Agur also shares four things that he finds amazing and incomprehensible: the way of an eagle in the sky, the way of a snake on a rock, the way of a ship on the sea, and the way of a man with a young woman. These things are beyond his understanding, and he marvels at their mysteries. In the latter part of the chapter, Agur gives some practical advice for living a righteous life. He warns against slandering servants to their masters, cursing one's parents, and being haughty and arrogant. He emphasizes the importance of living with integrity and not being deceitful. Agur concludes by reminding us that every word of God is flawless and that we should take refuge in Him.
