Song of Solomon 1:2
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth- for your love is more delightful than wine.
In this chapter, the bride expresses her deep longing for her beloved. She describes her darkened skin from working in the sun and expresses her desire to be with her beloved. The bride longs for the intimate and passionate love of her beloved, and she eagerly awaits his arrival. The bride compares herself to the other women and feels insecure about her appearance. However, her beloved reassures her of her beauty and praises her above all others. He compares her to a mare among Pharaoh's chariots, emphasizing her uniqueness and desirability. The chapter ends with the bride inviting her beloved to take her to his chambers, where they can experience the fullness of their love. She desires to be close to him and to fully surrender herself to him.
