Easy Bible・Isaiah 1
Isaiah 1:18
"Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
In Isaiah 1, God speaks through the prophet Isaiah to the people of Judah. The chapter begins with God expressing His disappointment in the rebellious nature of His people. He describes how they have turned away from Him, become corrupt, and lost their sense of justice. God calls them to repentance, urging them to wash themselves and make themselves clean. He offers them forgiveness and a chance to start anew. God then addresses the leaders of Judah, who have failed in their responsibilities. He rebukes them for their injustice and calls them to act justly, defend the oppressed, and seek justice for the fatherless and the widow. God warns that if they refuse to repent and continue in their sinful ways, they will face severe consequences. Lastly, God reveals His desire to reason with His people and restore them to righteousness. He invites them to come and reason together, promising that even though their sins are like scarlet, they can be as white as snow. God emphasizes the importance of obedience and warns of the consequences of disobedience. He desires a genuine relationship with His people, but it requires their repentance and willingness to follow His ways.
