Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9 reveals the prophecy of the coming Messiah, who will bring light and salvation to the people. The chapter begins with a message of hope, as it declares that the people who walked in darkness will see a great light. This light symbolizes the Messiah, who will bring joy and deliverance to the people. The key verse of Isaiah 9 is verse 6, which says, 'For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.' This verse describes the attributes and titles of the Messiah, emphasizing his divine nature and his role as the bringer of peace. The chapter also warns of the consequences of disobedience and the judgment that will come upon the people. It emphasizes the need for repentance and turning back to God. However, it ends with a promise of restoration and redemption, as it declares that God's anger will not be forever and that there will be a time of blessing and peace for those who seek God.
