About this Chapter

In Isaiah 27, God speaks of His judgment and restoration. He declares that in that day, He will punish Leviathan, the twisting serpent, and slay the dragon of the sea. The chapter continues by describing how God cares for His vineyard, symbolizing His people. Though He may discipline them, He will not destroy them completely. Instead, He will prune them and tend to them, so they may bear fruit and flourish. The chapter concludes with a promise of restoration. Those who were scattered will be gathered, and the trumpet will be sounded to summon them. They will worship the Lord on His holy mountain in Jerusalem.
