Easy Bible・Isaiah 33
Isaiah 33:2
O LORD, be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress.
In this chapter, Isaiah prophesies about the judgment and deliverance of the Lord. He describes the destruction that will come upon the oppressors of God's people, and the righteousness and security that will be established in Zion. The Lord is praised for His majesty and power, and His people are encouraged to trust in Him for their salvation. Isaiah begins by calling on the Lord to be gracious to His people and to arise and scatter their enemies. He acknowledges that the Lord is exalted and will fill Zion with justice and righteousness. The nations that were once powerful will be brought low, and the Lord will be the stability of His people. Isaiah then describes the destruction that will come upon the Assyrians, who were oppressing God's people. He compares their destruction to the burning of thorns and the consuming of chaff by fire. The Lord's judgment will be swift and thorough, and there will be no escape for the wicked.
