Easy Bible・Isaiah 36
Isaiah 36:1
In the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah's reign, Sennacherib king of Assyria attacked all the fortified cities of Judah and captured them.
In this chapter, the Assyrians, led by their commander, came to Jerusalem and threatened to conquer the city. They mocked the people and tried to undermine their faith. However, Hezekiah, the king of Judah, remained faithful to God and sought His help. He sent his officials to the prophet Isaiah to seek his counsel and ask for his prayers. Isaiah assured Hezekiah's officials that God would deliver them from the hands of the Assyrians. He urged them not to be afraid or discouraged by the enemy's threats, for God would fight on their behalf. Hezekiah's officials reported back to the king, and he took their words to heart, seeking God's guidance and praying for deliverance. This chapter reminds us of the importance of staying faithful to God even in the face of great challenges. Hezekiah's response serves as an example for us to trust in God's power and seek His guidance in times of trouble. It also shows us the role of prayer and seeking wise counsel from godly individuals like Isaiah.
