Easy Bible・Isaiah 50
Isaiah 50:4
The Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught.
In this chapter, Isaiah prophesies about the obedience and suffering of the servant of the Lord. The servant declares that the Lord has given him the ability to speak words of wisdom and sustain the weary with his words. He listens to the Lord and does not rebel or turn away. Despite his obedience, the servant faces persecution and suffering. He is struck on the cheek, spat upon, and his beard is pulled out. However, he remains steadfast and trusts in the Lord to help him. He knows that he will not be put to shame.
