Easy Bible・Isaiah 51
Isaiah 51:1
"Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness and who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were cut and to the quarry from which you were hewn;
In this chapter, God speaks to his people, comforting them and encouraging them to listen to him. He reminds them of their roots and the faithfulness of their ancestors. God promises to bring salvation and righteousness to his people, and he assures them that his righteousness will never be shaken. God urges his people to look to the rock from which they were cut, and to the quarry from which they were hewn. He reminds them of Abraham and Sarah, who were childless but became the parents of a great nation. God promises to bless his people and to make them a blessing to the nations. God encourages his people not to fear the reproach of men or be terrified by their insults. He reminds them that the moth will eat them up like a garment, but his righteousness will last forever. God promises to comfort his people and to bring joy and gladness to them, turning their sorrow into everlasting joy.
