Easy Bible・Jeremiah 3
Jeremiah 3:22
"Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding.Yes, we will come to you, for you are the LORD our God.
In this chapter, God calls His people, Israel, to repentance and return to Him. He pleads with them to acknowledge their unfaithfulness and turn away from their idolatry. God promises to forgive and restore them if they repent and come back to Him. God uses the metaphor of a faithless wife to illustrate Israel's unfaithfulness. He compares Himself to a husband who has been rejected by his wife, yet He still longs for her to return. Despite Israel's unfaithfulness, God's love and mercy are unfailing, and He offers them a chance to repent and be reconciled. The chapter ends with God's invitation for Israel to return to Him. He promises to give them shepherds who will lead them with knowledge and understanding. God desires a restored relationship with His people, and He offers them hope and a future if they will only turn back to Him.
