Jeremiah 11:1
This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD:
In this chapter, Jeremiah receives a message from the Lord, instructing him to proclaim the terms of the covenant that God made with the people of Israel when He brought them out of Egypt. The people had broken this covenant by worshiping other gods and not obeying God's commands. Jeremiah warns the people of the consequences of their disobedience, saying that God will bring disaster upon them if they do not repent and turn back to Him. He reminds them of the previous warnings that God had sent through other prophets, but the people did not listen. Jeremiah then reveals a plot against his life by the people of Anathoth, his own hometown. He prays to God for justice and asks for God to take vengeance on his enemies. Jeremiah expresses his trust in God's judgment and righteousness.
