Easy Bible・Jeremiah 25
Jeremiah 25:15
This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, said to me: "Take from my hand this cup filled with the wine of my wrath and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it.
In this chapter, Jeremiah receives a message from the Lord about the consequences of Israel's sin. The Lord tells Jeremiah to take a cup filled with the wine of His wrath and make all the nations drink from it. This cup symbolizes the punishment that God will pour out on the nations for their wickedness and idolatry. The Lord specifically mentions that He will bring judgment upon Judah and Jerusalem for their disobedience. He says that they will be taken captive by the Babylonians and serve them for seventy years. After that, God will punish the king of Babylon and the nation for their sins. Jeremiah prophesies that the entire earth will experience the Lord's judgment. The nations will drink from the cup of God's wrath and be made to stagger and fall. The Lord's punishment will be severe, and the nations will become a desolation and a horror. However, the Lord also promises that He will eventually restore His people and bring them back to their land.
