Easy Bible・Jeremiah 26
Jeremiah 26:2
"This is what the LORD says: Stand in the courtyard of the LORD's house and speak to all the people of the towns of Judah who come to worship in the house of the LORD. Tell them everything I command you; do not omit a word.
In Jeremiah 26, Jeremiah delivers a warning to the people of Judah from the Lord. He tells them that if they do not listen to the words of the Lord and follow His commands, then He will make the temple like Shiloh and Jerusalem will become a curse to all nations. The priests, prophets, and all the people hear Jeremiah's words and they become angry. They accuse him of prophesying against the city and say that he deserves to die. However, Jeremiah defends himself and says that he is only speaking the words that the Lord has commanded him to speak. Some of the elders of the land come forward and speak in Jeremiah's defense, reminding the people of how Micah prophesied similar things and was not put to death. They argue that Jeremiah should be spared because he is speaking the truth from the Lord.
