Easy Bible・Jeremiah 46
Jeremiah 46:27
"Do not fear, O Jacob my servant; do not be dismayed, O Israel. I will surely save you out of a distant place, your descendants from the land of their exile. Jacob will again have peace and security, and no one will make him afraid.
In this chapter, Jeremiah prophesies about the judgment of God upon Egypt. He starts by declaring that Egypt's army will be defeated by the Babylonians, and their gods will be humiliated. Jeremiah warns the Egyptians that they should prepare for war, but it will be in vain because God has determined their destruction. Egypt will become a desolate wasteland, and its people will be scattered among the nations. Jeremiah emphasizes that the Babylonian invasion is not just a human event, but a divine judgment from God. He describes how the Lord will bring terror upon Egypt, causing panic and confusion among its people. The mighty warriors of Egypt will stumble and fall, unable to save themselves from the impending disaster. Despite the devastation, Jeremiah assures that God will not completely destroy Egypt. He promises to restore the fortunes of Egypt in the future, but only after a time of punishment and exile. God's judgment on Egypt serves as a reminder of His sovereignty and power over all nations, and a warning to those who trust in their own strength rather than in Him.
