Easy Bible・Ezekiel 2
Ezekiel 2:1
He said to me, "Son of man, stand up on your feet and I will speak to you."
In this chapter, God calls Ezekiel to be a prophet and gives him a message to deliver to the Israelites who have rebelled against Him. God tells Ezekiel that although the people may not listen to him, he must still speak the words God gives him. Ezekiel is warned that the Israelites are a rebellious nation and have turned away from God, but he is called to be a prophet among them. Ezekiel is told to eat a scroll that represents the words of God. As he eats it, he experiences the sweetness of God's words, but also the bitterness of the message he must deliver to the people. This symbolizes the mixed emotions Ezekiel will feel as he proclaims God's message of judgment and hope.
