About this Chapter

In this chapter, the Lord speaks to Ezekiel about the coming judgment upon Israel and their disobedience. The people of Israel were living in rebellion against God, and the Lord wanted to show them the consequences of their actions. The Lord instructs Ezekiel to act out a prophetic sign by packing his bags and digging through the wall to escape. This sign symbolizes the exile and captivity that the people of Israel will face as a result of their disobedience. Despite the warning signs and prophetic messages, the people of Israel refuse to listen and believe. They have become hardened in their hearts and are unwilling to repent. However, the Lord assures Ezekiel that His word will come to pass and the people will know that He is the Lord.
