Ezekiel 14:6
"Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!
In this chapter, God speaks to Ezekiel about the idolatry of the elders of Israel. He tells Ezekiel that when any Israelite sets up idols in their heart and puts a wicked stumbling block before their face, God himself will answer them according to their idolatrous hearts. God declares that he will set his face against such a person and make them a sign and a byword. He will cut them off from his people and they will know that he is the Lord. God then speaks about the false prophets who deceive the people with their lies. He says that he will stretch out his hand against them and make them a sign and a byword. They will be cut off from the midst of his people and they will bear the punishment of their sins. Lastly, God speaks about the judgment that will come upon the land. He says that if a country sins against him by acting unfaithfully, he will stretch out his hand against it and cut off its supply of food. He will send famine, wild beasts, and the sword upon that land, so that even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, they could only save themselves by their righteousness.
