Easy Bible・Ezekiel 21
Ezekiel 21:27
A ruin! A ruin! I will make it a ruin! It will not be restored until he comes to whom it rightfully belongs; to him I will give it.'
In this chapter, God speaks through the prophet Ezekiel, declaring that He will bring His sword against Jerusalem and the people of Israel. The sword represents God's judgment and punishment for their rebellion and idolatry. God will use Babylon, represented by King Nebuchadnezzar, as His instrument of judgment. The sword will strike down both the righteous and the wicked, and no one will be spared. The key verse of this chapter is found in verse 27, where God says, 'A ruin! A ruin! I will make it a ruin! The crown will not be restored until he to whom it rightfully belongs shall come; to him I will give it.' This verse foreshadows the coming of the Messiah, who will restore the crown and establish God's kingdom on earth. Through this chapter, God warns His people of the imminent destruction that will come upon them due to their disobedience. He calls them to repentance and reminds them of His sovereignty and ultimate plan for redemption. Despite the impending judgment, there is hope for restoration and a future under the righteous rule of the Messiah.
