Easy Bible・Ezekiel 22
Ezekiel 22:30
"I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none.
Ezekiel 22 describes the corruption and wickedness of Jerusalem. The Lord accuses the city's leaders of shedding blood, oppressing the poor and needy, and practicing idolatry. He searches for someone to stand in the gap and intercede for the city, but finds no one. As a result, God's wrath will be poured out on Jerusalem, and the city will be consumed by fire. The chapter begins with a list of the city's sins, including murder, idol worship, and sexual immorality. The leaders and people of Jerusalem have become like a furnace, consuming lives and wealth for their own gain. Despite being God's chosen people, they have forsaken His laws and turned to wickedness. In the midst of this corruption, God searches for a righteous person who will intercede for the city and plead for mercy. However, He finds no one. The lack of righteous individuals is a reflection of the city's spiritual condition. As a result, God's judgment will come upon Jerusalem, and the city will be destroyed.
