Easy Bible・Ezekiel 26
Ezekiel 26:3
therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, O Tyre, and I will bring many nations against you, like the sea casting up its waves.
In this chapter, God pronounces judgment against the city of Tyre for its arrogance and pride. The city of Tyre had become wealthy and powerful, but it had also become corrupt and had oppressed other nations. God declares that He will bring many nations against Tyre, and the city will be destroyed. The destruction will be so complete that it will be turned into a bare rock, and its rubble will be thrown into the sea. Tyre's wealth and power will be gone, and it will become a place for fishermen to spread their nets. The reason for Tyre's judgment is its pride and arrogance. The city boasted of its wisdom, wealth, and beauty, and it believed that it was invincible. However, God declares that He will humble Tyre and bring it down from its lofty position. The destruction of Tyre will serve as a warning to other nations, showing them that no one can stand against God's judgment. This chapter serves as a reminder that pride and arrogance are detestable to God. He opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. It also reminds us that no matter how powerful or wealthy a nation or city may be, it is ultimately God who holds the power and determines its fate. We should always humble ourselves before God and seek His guidance and wisdom, rather than relying on our own strength and accomplishments.
