Easy Bible・Ezekiel 31
Ezekiel 31:1
In the eleventh year, in the third month on the first day, the word of the LORD came to me:
In this chapter, Ezekiel delivers a message from the Lord to the Pharaoh of Egypt, comparing him to a great cedar tree in Lebanon. The tree was once tall and majestic, but its pride led to its downfall. The Lord describes how Assyria, a powerful nation, was like a river that caused the tree to grow and flourish. However, the tree's beauty and height made it proud, and it began to elevate itself above the other trees. As a result, the Lord allowed a mighty nation to overthrow and destroy the tree, bringing it down from its lofty position. Through this analogy, the Lord warns Pharaoh of Egypt about the consequences of pride and arrogance. Just as the great cedar tree fell, so too will Pharaoh and his nation if they continue to exalt themselves and reject the Lord's authority.
