Easy Bible・Ezekiel 32
Ezekiel 32:18
"Son of man, wail for the hordes of Egypt and consign to the earth below both her and the daughters of mighty nations, with those who go down to the pit.
In this chapter, the prophet Ezekiel laments over the downfall of Egypt. He describes how Egypt will be brought down to the realm of the dead and be surrounded by the uncircumcised, the nations who have also been slain by the sword. The once mighty nation of Egypt will be humiliated and become a desolate wasteland. Ezekiel uses vivid imagery to illustrate the destruction that will come upon Egypt. He compares Egypt to a great sea monster, lying in the midst of the nations, causing terror and destruction. But in the end, Egypt will be brought down and its pride will be humbled. The lament over Egypt serves as a reminder of God's judgment on the nations. It shows that no nation, no matter how powerful, is exempt from God's judgment. It also emphasizes the importance of recognizing God's sovereignty and living in obedience to Him.
