Easy Bible・Ezekiel 33
Ezekiel 33:11
Say to them, 'As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, O house of Israel?'
In Ezekiel 33, God speaks to Ezekiel, telling him to be a watchman for the people of Israel. He warns that if Ezekiel fails to warn the wicked of their sins, their blood will be on his hands. God desires that the wicked turn from their evil ways and live. He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather wants them to repent and live. God also addresses the righteous, assuring them that if they turn from their righteousness and commit sin, their righteous deeds will not be remembered. On the other hand, if the wicked turn from their wickedness and do what is just and right, they will live and not die. In this chapter, we see God's mercy and desire for repentance. He gives everyone a chance to turn from their wickedness and live. As believers, we are called to be watchmen, warning others of the consequences of sin and pointing them towards repentance. Let us strive to be faithful in this calling, knowing that God desires all to come to repentance and experience His abundant life.
