Easy Bible・Ezekiel 35
Ezekiel 35:15
Because you rejoiced when the inheritance of the house of Israel became desolate, that is how I will treat you. You will be desolate, O Mount Seir, you and all of Edom. Then they will know that I am the LORD.'"
In this chapter, God pronounces judgment against Mount Seir for their hostility towards Israel. God declares that He will make Mount Seir a desolate wasteland, with no inhabitants or animals. The reason for this judgment is that Mount Seir rejoiced over the destruction of Israel and took possession of their land. God promises to execute vengeance upon Mount Seir and make them know that He is the Lord. The judgment on Mount Seir serves as a reminder that God is the ultimate judge and will hold nations accountable for their actions. It also highlights God's faithfulness to His people, as He defends them against their enemies. This chapter teaches us the importance of not rejoicing over the misfortune of others and the consequences of harboring hostility towards God's chosen people. As believers, we are called to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. We should strive to reflect God's character of justice and mercy in our interactions with others. Just as God executed judgment on Mount Seir, we can trust that He will also bring justice to those who oppose His people and seek to harm them.
