Easy Bible・Ezekiel 36
Ezekiel 36:26
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
In Ezekiel 36, God speaks to the prophet Ezekiel about the restoration of Israel. God promises to give the people of Israel a new heart and a new spirit. He will remove their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. God will put His Spirit within them and enable them to follow His decrees and keep His laws. This restoration is not just physical, but also spiritual, as God wants to transform the hearts of His people. God explains that He will gather the people of Israel from the nations and bring them back to their own land. The land that was once desolate will become like the Garden of Eden. The cities will be rebuilt, and the ruins will be restored. The nations will recognize that God is the one who restores and blesses His people. The reason for this restoration is not because of the righteousness of the Israelites, but for the sake of God's holy name. God's reputation is at stake, as the nations have witnessed the exile and the judgment upon Israel. By restoring His people, God will show His faithfulness and power to the nations. He will sanctify His name and reveal His glory to all.
