About this Chapter

In this chapter, the prophet Ezekiel receives a message from the Lord regarding the division of the land among the tribes of Israel. The Lord commands that a portion of the land, called the holy district, be set aside for the sanctuary, the priests, and the Levites. This portion is to be measured and designated by the prince of Israel. The Lord also instructs that the rest of the land be divided equally among the tribes of Israel, with each tribe receiving an equal portion. The prince of Israel is responsible for providing the burnt offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings for the people, as well as the sin offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings for himself and his household. The Lord emphasizes the importance of justice and fairness in the distribution of the land and the offerings. He warns against any unjust practices and commands that accurate measurements and fair scales be used. The people are called to follow the Lord's decrees and laws, and the prince is to ensure that they are upheld.
