Easy Bible・Ezekiel 46
Ezekiel 46:9
"'When the people of the land come before the LORD at the appointed feasts, whoever enters by the north gate to worship is to go out the south gate; and whoever enters by the south gate is to go out the north gate. No one is to return through the gate by which he entered, but each is to go out the opposite gate.
In this chapter, Ezekiel receives a vision of the future temple and its worship practices. The gate of the inner court is to be kept shut on the six working days, but on the Sabbath and the day of the New Moon, it is to be opened. On these days, the prince is to enter through the gateway and worship in the presence of the Lord. He is to offer burnt offerings, grain offerings, and fellowship offerings. The gate is then to be closed after the prince has finished his worship. The prince is also given specific instructions for the offerings he is to bring on the Sabbath and the day of the New Moon. He is to offer six lambs and a ram without defect, along with a grain offering of an ephah for the ram and an ephah for each lamb. He is also to provide a hin of olive oil for each ephah of grain. These offerings are to be made as a pleasing aroma to the Lord. This vision of the future temple and its worship practices reminds us of the importance of honoring the Sabbath and setting aside time for worship. It also emphasizes the role of the prince as a leader in worship, responsible for offering sacrifices and leading the people in their worship of God. As believers today, we can learn from this vision and strive to honor God in our own worship practices.
