Ezekiel 47:1
The man brought me back to the entrance of the temple, and I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was coming down from under the south side of the temple, south of the altar.

About this Chapter

In this chapter, the prophet Ezekiel has a vision of a river flowing out from the temple of God. The river starts as a small trickle and gradually becomes a deep and wide river. As the river flows, it brings life and healing to everything it touches. The prophet is taken along the banks of the river and sees that wherever the river flows, there is an abundance of fish and trees. The river brings life to the Dead Sea, making it teem with fish and turning its salty waters into fresh water. Along the banks of the river, there are many trees that bear fruit every month, and their leaves have healing properties. This vision symbolizes the life-giving power of God's presence. The river represents the Holy Spirit, who brings life and healing to the world. It also symbolizes the blessings and abundance that come from being in a close relationship with God. Just as the river brings life and healing to the land, God's presence brings spiritual life and transformation to those who seek Him.
