Easy Bible・Ezekiel 48
Ezekiel 48:29
"This is the land you are to allot as an inheritance to the tribes of Israel, and these will be their portions," declares the Sovereign LORD.
In this final chapter of the book of Ezekiel, the prophet receives a vision from God about the division of the land among the twelve tribes of Israel. The chapter begins with a description of the boundaries of the land, which stretch from the Mediterranean Sea in the west to the eastern border of the land. The land is divided equally among the tribes, with each tribe receiving a portion of land corresponding to their inheritance. The chapter concludes with a description of the city's gates, named after the twelve tribes, and the measurement of the city. This vision of the division of the land serves as a reminder of God's faithfulness to His promises. Despite the exile and judgment that the Israelites have experienced, God assures them that He will restore them to their land and bless them once again. The division of the land symbolizes the restoration and renewal of the nation of Israel, as each tribe receives their allotted portion of the land. As believers today, we can find encouragement in this vision. It reminds us that God is faithful to His promises and that He will fulfill His plans for our lives. Just as He restored and renewed the nation of Israel, He can restore and renew us as well. We can trust in His faithfulness and look forward to the fulfillment of His promises in our lives.
