Easy Bible・Daniel 8
Daniel 8:15
While I, Daniel, was watching the vision and trying to understand it, there before me stood one who looked like a man.
In this chapter, Daniel has a vision of a ram and a goat. The ram has two long horns, with one horn being higher than the other. The goat has a prominent horn between its eyes. The goat defeats the ram and becomes very powerful, but its large horn is eventually broken and replaced by four smaller horns. Daniel is confused and seeks an interpretation for the vision. An angel appears and explains that the ram represents the kings of Media and Persia, and the goat represents the king of Greece. The large horn on the goat is the first king of Greece, and the four smaller horns are four kingdoms that will arise from his nation. The angel further reveals that one of the four kingdoms will become exceedingly powerful and will oppress God's people. However, this kingdom will be destroyed by the power of God. Daniel is instructed to seal up the vision, as it pertains to a distant future.
