Easy Bible・Daniel 9
Daniel 9:2
in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the Scriptures, according to the word of the LORD given to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years.
In this chapter, Daniel prays to God, confessing the sins of his people and seeking God's mercy and forgiveness. He acknowledges that they have sinned and rebelled against God, resulting in their exile and the destruction of Jerusalem. Daniel pleads with God to have mercy and restore Jerusalem. While he is praying, the angel Gabriel appears to him and gives him a vision of the future, including the coming of the Messiah. Daniel's prayer is a powerful example of repentance and intercession. He humbles himself before God, acknowledging the sins of his people and seeking God's forgiveness. His prayer is a reminder that even in difficult times, we can turn to God, confess our sins, and seek His mercy and restoration. The vision that Gabriel gives to Daniel provides hope and reassurance. It reveals that God has a plan for His people and that He will bring about His purposes in His perfect timing. The vision also foreshadows the coming of Jesus Christ, who will bring salvation and establish His eternal kingdom. It reminds us that God is faithful to His promises and that He is in control of history.
