About this Chapter

In Daniel chapter 10, Daniel has a vision of a great man. The vision came to him in the third year of Cyrus king of Persia. Daniel was mourning and fasting for three weeks when he saw the vision. He was by the Tigris River when suddenly a man dressed in linen appeared before him. The man's appearance was glorious, and his face was like lightning. His eyes were like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude. Daniel was so overwhelmed by the vision that he fell with his face to the ground, unable to speak. Then, a hand touched Daniel and set him trembling on his hands and knees. The man spoke to him, telling him not to be afraid, for he was highly esteemed by God. The man explained that he had been sent to Daniel in response to his prayers. However, he had been delayed by a spiritual battle with the prince of the Persian kingdom. He assured Daniel that he would now tell him what would happen in the future.
