Hosea 2:14
"Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her.
In this chapter, God speaks through the prophet Hosea to the people of Israel, using the metaphor of a wayward wife and a faithful husband to illustrate their relationship. Despite Israel's unfaithfulness and idolatry, God promises to bring her back and restore their relationship. The chapter begins with God declaring that He will allure Israel into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her. He will remove the names of the Baals (false gods) from her lips and betroth her to Himself forever in righteousness, justice, love, and compassion. God promises to provide for Israel's needs and bless her abundantly. He will restore the land and make it a place of joy and abundance. He will also remove the names of the Baals from the land, so that they will no longer be remembered.
