Easy Bible・Hosea 3
Hosea 3:1
The LORD said to me, "Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another and is an adulteress. Love her as the LORD loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and love the sacred raisin cakes."
In this chapter, Hosea is commanded by God to love his wife, Gomer, who had been unfaithful to him. He is instructed to buy her back from slavery with fifteen shekels of silver and a homer and a half of barley. This act of Hosea buying back his wife symbolizes God's love for the unfaithful Israelites. Despite their idolatry and unfaithfulness, God still loves them and desires to restore them to a relationship with Him. This chapter serves as a powerful reminder of God's unconditional love and His willingness to pursue and redeem those who have turned away from Him. It also emphasizes the importance of forgiveness and reconciliation in relationships.
