Hosea 4:1
Hear the word of the LORD, you Israelites, because the LORD has a charge to bring against you who live in the land: "There is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgment of God in the land.

About this Chapter

The Lord accuses Israel of having no faithfulness, love, or acknowledgment of God in the land. They have become a nation of swearing, lying, killing, stealing, and adultery. The land mourns, and all who live in it waste away because of the curse of sin. The priests are also held accountable for their role in Israel's downfall. They have rejected knowledge, and because of their negligence, the people have gone astray. The more the priests have multiplied, the more they have sinned against God. God warns that He will punish both Israel and the priests for their wickedness. He will turn their glory into shame and remove their prosperity. Because they have forgotten the law of God, He will forget their children.
