Hosea 5:15
Then I will go back to my place until they admit their guilt. And they will seek my face; in their misery they will earnestly seek me."

About this Chapter

In Hosea 5, God pronounces judgment on both Israel and Judah for their unfaithfulness. He declares that he will withdraw his blessings and leave them to their own devices. However, God also offers a way out by calling them to repentance and seeking his face. He promises that if they turn back to him, he will heal their waywardness and love them freely. The chapter begins with God's indictment against the priests, the leaders, and the people of Israel. He accuses them of spiritual adultery and warns them of the consequences of their actions. God declares that he will punish them for their unfaithfulness and withdraw his presence from them. Despite their impending judgment, God still extends a message of hope. He calls them to seek him and acknowledges that their affliction is a result of their own actions. God longs for their repentance and promises to restore them if they turn back to him. He desires to heal their backsliding and love them unconditionally.
