Easy Bible・Hosea 7
Hosea 7:1
whenever I would heal Israel, the sins of Ephraim are exposed and the crimes of Samaria revealed. They practice deceit, thieves break into houses, bandits rob in the streets;
In Hosea 7, God exposes the sins of Israel and announces His judgment upon them. The people of Israel have become corrupt and unfaithful, like a half-baked cake or a heated oven that burns all day. They are deceitful and refuse to acknowledge their sins, instead turning to false gods and foreign nations for help. Despite God's warnings and discipline, they continue in their rebellion and refuse to return to Him. God laments over their unfaithfulness, saying that they cry out to Him in distress, but their hearts are not truly turned toward Him. They have become like a faulty bow, unable to shoot straight. They rely on their own strength and alliances instead of seeking God's guidance and protection. As a result, they will be swallowed up by their enemies and face destruction. God's love and compassion for Israel are evident, as He longs to heal and restore them. However, their stubbornness and refusal to repent prevent Him from extending His mercy. Israel's pride and rebellion have blinded them to their need for God's forgiveness and salvation. It is only through genuine repentance and turning back to God that they can find redemption and restoration.
