Micah 3:1
Then I said, "Listen, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of the house of Israel. Should you not know justice,
In this chapter, Micah condemns the leaders and prophets of Israel for their corruption and false prophecies. He accuses the rulers of Israel of exploiting their power and using it to oppress the people. The prophets, who were supposed to speak on behalf of God, were also guilty of misleading the people with false visions and divinations. Micah warns the leaders that their actions will lead to the destruction of Jerusalem. He foretells the city's destruction and the exile of its people. Despite their wickedness, the leaders and prophets of Israel still expected God's favor and protection, but Micah makes it clear that their disobedience will result in God turning away from them. In the midst of this condemnation, Micah contrasts the wickedness of the leaders with his own role as a true prophet of God. He declares that he is filled with the Spirit of the Lord, and he speaks with justice and might. Unlike the false prophets, Micah speaks the truth and proclaims the coming judgment upon Israel.
