Easy Bible・Micah 5
Micah 5:2
"But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times. "
In Micah 5, we learn about the prophecy of a future ruler who will come from Bethlehem. The chapter begins with a reference to the city of Bethlehem, which is described as being small among the clans of Judah. However, from this seemingly insignificant place, a great ruler will emerge. The key verse of this chapter is Micah 5:2, which says, 'But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.' This verse speaks of the birth of a ruler who will have ancient origins and will come from Bethlehem. This prophecy finds its fulfillment in the birth of Jesus Christ, who was born in Bethlehem. Jesus, the Son of God, is the promised ruler who came to save His people. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus established His eternal kingdom and offers salvation to all who believe in Him.
