Easy Bible・Micah 6
Micah 6:8
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
In Micah 6, God brings a charge against His people, asking them to present their case. He reminds them of all the ways in which He has blessed and delivered them. Then, He reveals His requirements: to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him. God does not desire empty religious rituals or sacrifices; instead, He desires a heart that seeks justice and righteousness. The people had turned away from God's ways and had become corrupt, oppressing the poor and engaging in dishonest practices. Through the prophet Micah, God calls His people to repentance and warns them of the consequences of their actions. He reminds them of His faithfulness and the covenant He made with their ancestors. Despite their disobedience, God offers them forgiveness and restoration if they turn back to Him.
