Easy Bible・Zechariah 2
Zechariah 2:10
"Shout and be glad, O Daughter of Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you," declares the LORD.
In Zechariah 2, God promises to protect and bless Jerusalem. The chapter begins with a vision of a man with a measuring line, symbolizing the future expansion of Jerusalem. God declares that He will be a protective wall of fire around Jerusalem and that His glory will dwell within it. He calls on the people to return to Jerusalem and promises to bring them back from exile. God warns the nations who have oppressed Israel that He will punish them and that He will dwell among His people. He tells Jerusalem to rejoice because He is coming to dwell in their midst. He will choose Jerusalem as His holy city and will bring prosperity and blessing to the land. The chapter ends with a call for the people of Jerusalem to be silent before the Lord, for He is coming to judge the nations. He will be their refuge and strength, and He will bring justice to the earth. God assures His people that He will dwell in their midst and that they will know that He is the Lord.
