Zechariah 14:9
The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name.
In Zechariah 14, the prophet describes a future time when the Lord will come and fight against the nations that have gathered against Jerusalem. The city will be captured and the people will suffer, but then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations, and his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives. On that day, there will be a great earthquake, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two, forming a valley. The people will flee through this valley, and the Lord will come and be king over the whole earth. The Lord's reign will bring about great changes. It will be a unique day, known only to the Lord, with no distinction between day and night. Living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it to the eastern sea and half of it to the western sea, in both summer and winter. The Lord will be king over all the earth, and all the nations will come to worship him and celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. However, there will also be a judgment on those nations that do not come to worship the Lord. The Lord will strike them with a plague, and their flesh will rot while they are still standing. Their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. This will be the punishment for their refusal to acknowledge the Lord as king.
