Malachi 2:15
Has not the LORD made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth.

About this Chapter

In Malachi 2, God addresses the priests of Judah, rebuking them for their unfaithfulness and corrupt practices. He reminds them of the covenant He made with Levi, the ancestor of the priestly tribe, and how they have turned away from it. God expresses His anger towards their disobedience and warns them of the consequences they will face if they do not repent. The priests are specifically condemned for their failure to teach and uphold God's law. They have shown partiality in their judgments and have led the people astray. God desires the priests to be faithful messengers of His truth, upholding justice and righteousness. God also addresses the issue of intermarriage with foreign women, which was prohibited under the law. He warns against this practice as it leads to idolatry and the abandonment of the true faith. God desires a holy people who are devoted to Him alone.
