Malachi 4:5
"See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes.

About this Chapter

Malachi 4 talks about the coming Day of the Lord, when the wicked will be judged and the righteous will be rewarded. It starts by saying that the day is coming, burning like a furnace, and all the arrogant and evildoers will be like stubble. But for those who fear the Lord, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. The chapter then goes on to say that before the great and dreadful day of the Lord, the prophet Elijah will come. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that God will not strike the land with a curse. This chapter reminds us of the importance of fearing the Lord and turning our hearts towards Him. It also gives us hope that, even in the midst of judgment, God will bring healing and restoration to those who trust in Him.
