Easy Bible・Matthew 11
Matthew 11:28
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
In this chapter, Jesus continues to preach and perform miracles. He sends out his disciples to spread his message, and they witness his power firsthand. However, not everyone believes in him, and Jesus denounces the cities where he performed most of his miracles because they did not repent. Jesus then praises God for revealing his truth to the humble and simple, rather than the wise and learned. He declares that all things have been entrusted to him by the Father, and invites all who are weary and burdened to come to him for rest. Jesus criticizes the religious leaders of his time, calling them hypocrites and denouncing their lack of understanding. He condemns them for rejecting both John the Baptist and himself, despite their different approaches to ministry. Jesus then thanks the Father for hiding the truth from the wise and revealing it to the little children, emphasizing the importance of childlike faith. Jesus concludes by inviting all who are burdened by the religious laws and regulations to come to him. He promises rest and a lighter yoke, assuring that his teachings are gentle and his burden is light. He offers himself as the source of true rest and salvation, calling all to have faith in him and find rest for their souls.
