Matthew 12:9
Going on from that place, he went into their synagogue,
In Matthew 12, Jesus heals a man with a withered hand on the Sabbath, which angers the Pharisees. Jesus then goes on to explain that it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath and that he is the Lord of the Sabbath. Jesus also casts out a demon from a man who was blind and mute, and the Pharisees accuse him of using the power of Beelzebul, the prince of demons. Jesus refutes their accusation by explaining that a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. Jesus then warns the Pharisees about the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, stating that it will not be forgiven. He emphasizes the importance of bearing good fruit and says that a tree is known by its fruit. He also speaks about the sign of Jonah, foreshadowing his death and resurrection.
