Matthew 27:45
From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land.
In Matthew 27, Jesus is crucified and dies on the cross. Darkness covers the land from noon until three in the afternoon. At the ninth hour, Jesus cries out in a loud voice and breathes his last. This chapter portrays the fulfillment of Jesus' mission to lay down his life as a sacrifice for the sins of humanity. Through his crucifixion, Jesus takes upon himself the punishment that we deserve, offering us forgiveness and salvation. The darkness that covers the land during Jesus' crucifixion symbolizes the weight of sin and the separation from God that Jesus experiences on behalf of humanity. His cry and death signify the completion of his sacrificial act, demonstrating his love and obedience to the Father's plan.
