Matthew 28:5
The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
Matthew 28 records the resurrection of Jesus Christ. After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. Suddenly, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and rolled back the stone from the entrance of the tomb. The angel told the women not to be afraid, for Jesus had risen from the dead, just as He said. The angel instructed them to go and tell the disciples that Jesus had been raised from the dead and would meet them in Galilee. The women left the tomb quickly with fear and joy, and they ran to tell the disciples what had happened. As they were going, Jesus met them and greeted them. They worshipped Him and Jesus told them to not be afraid, but to go and tell His disciples to meet Him in Galilee as well. The chief priests, upon hearing the news, bribed the soldiers who were guarding the tomb to spread a false story, saying that the disciples had stolen Jesus' body while they were asleep. This false story is still being spread among the Jews to this day. Meanwhile, the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw Him, they worshipped Him, but some doubted. Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'
