Easy Bible・Mark 2
Mark 2:5
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven."
In this chapter, Jesus is in Capernaum and a paralyzed man is brought to him by four friends. When they couldn't reach Jesus through the crowded house, they made a hole in the roof and lowered the man down. Jesus saw their faith and said to the paralyzed man, 'Son, your sins are forgiven.' Some of the religious leaders were upset, thinking that Jesus was blaspheming by forgiving sins. Jesus, knowing their thoughts, asked which is easier, to forgive sins or to heal the paralyzed man. He then healed the man, proving that he has the authority to forgive sins. This story shows us that Jesus has the power to forgive sins and heal physical ailments. It also teaches us about the importance of faith and the authority of Jesus. The religious leaders doubted Jesus' authority, but he proved them wrong by performing a miracle. It is a reminder for us to have faith in Jesus and trust in his power to forgive and heal. Additionally, this story highlights the compassion of Jesus. He saw the faith of the paralyzed man's friends and responded to their actions by forgiving the man's sins and healing him. Jesus cares deeply for each person and is willing to go to great lengths to bring healing and restoration. It is a beautiful example of Jesus' love and grace towards us.
