Easy Bible・Mark 4
Mark 4:3
"Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed.
In Mark 4, Jesus tells a parable about a sower who went out to sow seeds. Some seeds fell along the path and were eaten by birds, some fell on rocky ground and withered away, some fell among thorns and were choked, and some fell on good soil and produced a crop. Jesus explains that the seed represents the word of God, and the different types of soil represent the different responses people have to the word. This parable teaches us that not everyone who hears the word of God will receive it and bear fruit. Some people's hearts are hardened like the path, some are shallow like the rocky ground, and some are distracted by worldly cares like the thorns. But those who have a receptive heart like the good soil will receive the word, understand it, and bear fruit. As followers of Jesus, we are called to be like the good soil. We should have a heart that is open and receptive to God's word, allowing it to take root in our lives and produce a harvest of righteousness. We should also be mindful of the condition of other people's hearts and seek to share the word of God with them in a way that they can understand and receive it.
